Privacy Policy

Pilates Addicts is an educational reference for Pilates instructors. You can use the whole library without an account; if you create one, we store the minimum needed to sign you in and keep your lesson plans. We sell no data, show no advertising, and set no tracking cookies. This page describes exactly what is involved. Last updated: 27 September 2026.

Accounts

Creating an account is optional and free. If you register we store your email address, the display name you choose, and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store the password itself). We use the email address to sign you in, to let you reset your password, and to contact you about your account. We do not use it for marketing unless you separately subscribe to the newsletter below.

Content you create while signed in — lesson plans, their slots, and any likes you give — is stored against your account. Lessons are private to you until you publish them; published lessons are visible to everyone and show your display name.

To delete your account and everything stored with it, email [email protected] from the address you registered with. We will delete the account and its lesson plans, and confirm when it is done.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we ask for your email address. It is processed and stored by our newsletter provider (Buttondown) under their privacy policy, and is used only to send you the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we never share or sell your address. Subscribing is separate from creating an account: unsubscribing does not affect your account, and deleting your account does not unsubscribe you.

Analytics

When enabled, the site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service. It counts anonymous page views and referrers in aggregate; it does not collect personal data, cannot track you across sites, and (per Plausible's own policy) does not store IP addresses.

Affiliate links

The Recommended Equipment page may contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, the retailer (for example Balanced Body or Amazon) handles your order and data under their own privacy policy; Pilates Addicts may earn a small commission but never receives your payment details. An affiliate disclosure is shown on the page itself.

Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies. If you sign in, the site sets a single first-party session cookie. Its only job is to keep you signed in as you move between pages, and it is removed when it expires or when you log out. It contains a session identifier, not your password, and it is never used to follow you around the web.

No tracking cookies. Beyond that session cookie we set none, and we run no advertising or cross-site trackers. Any other cookies you encounter come from third parties you choose to interact with — for example the newsletter provider's signup form — and are governed by their policies.

Security and abuse prevention

Sign-in and password-reset attempts are rate limited to protect accounts from guessing. To do that we use your IP address and the email address being tried, in memory only, for a short window. This is not written to our database and is not used for anything else.
