Stomach Massage Series
Classical Repertoire Intermediate Seated Press-Out & Spinal Articulation 3 steps
The classical seated stomach massage in three parts, all on one setting (2-3 Red springs, footbar High, headrest Down): press the carriage out first with the spine rounded, then long and flat, then with rotation. The same press-out is re-taught each time so the abdominals, not the hip flexors, drive the carriage.
- Foundation Stomach Massage: Round Back
Start with the spine rounded and the pelvis tucked: the flexed spine is what teaches the abdominals to press the carriage out from the stoppers.
- Progression Stomach Massage: Flat Back
The same press-out with the spine long and flat, which takes spinal flexion out of the equation and puts the load squarely on the abdominals and hip flexors.
- Variation Stomach Massage: Twist
Add rotation to the flat-back press-out now that the pelvis can stay square through the whole range.
