Boomerang
Classical rolling combination: from a seated V the body rolls over the shoulder blades, the legs sweep up and over, and the sequence returns forward — the ultimate articulation test.
⚠️ Clinical Contraindications
- Neck & Cervical Strain: Inversion loads the cervical spine; keep the head supported and skip if there is any neck compromise.
- Osteoporosis / Osteopenia: Loaded flexion and inversion; substitute neutral or extension-based work.

Target Muscles
Setup Instructions
Sit tall on the carriage with the feet in the long straps, legs extended and arms reaching forward at shoulder height.
Execution Instructions
Exhale to roll back over the shoulder blades, sweeping the legs up and over the head, then roll forward to a seated V with the legs extended; pause, then roll back down with control.
Teaching Cues
"Roll over the shoulder blades, not the neck — the weight stays on the upper back."
"Pause in the seated V before rolling back down — no momentum."
"Exhale to roll back and sweep, inhale to hold, exhale to roll forward."
Modifications & Progressions
Lift Only (Regression)
Roll up to the balance without the leg sweep until the shoulder-stand control is clean.
Held Seated V (Progression)
Hold the seated V for two breaths before rolling back down.
